Pros
-Great teachers, and administration.
Cons
-HIGH turn over rate - students, teachers, and overall employees. -Extended school year - 200 days. Start late July and end in June. (Wasn't told this until two weeks before school started) -Extended school day - classes run from 8 am - 4 pm, THEN after school starts. (Wasn't told this until school started) -They make sure to fill your whole schedule. There is no downtime at AMS. -Average benefits. -Lack of structure and direction. -No on boarding process for new teachers, no training. You are just thrown into the fire with no direction. -No common planning periods. -No mentoring program for new teachers. -Lack of transparency from network. -Will ask for employe's opinions on how to change things only then disregard the general consensus with caveat after caveat. -I've seen people move across the country for AMS and then leave within or at the end of the year. -Tatyana is no longer the CEO. -Other educational organizations know that AMS is a mess. -Burnout is real!!! -PD's are unproductive and a waste of time.
