Pros
Benefits are decent. Some staff are really nice to work with. Most families are appreciative and grateful.
Cons
One of the lowest paying jobs for nurses in the country. They don't care about the experience and how many years you've been a nurse. They think it's a flat rate and a one size fits all. There's a lot of favoritism. People are given team lead positions without truly knowing how to lead. I don't know how they get to select who the team leaders. I guess if you know the right person and you're close to the director, you get these positions very easily. But the job description of a team lead needs to be more clear the determination of how people get raises is the most confusing and inconsistent I've ever seen. One person comes in late sometimes and they don't get a raise and then some people are late all the time and they still get a raise. Go figure. Some people call out at the last minute and they get a raise and some people tell you weeks in advance that they're not able to come to work because of an illness and have doctors letters to back it up and they don't get a Raise .
