Pros
Colleagues, direct supervisor/manager/director are really nice and helpful, really friendly work culture. Middle management is extremely supportive of career development and further education. Director protects the department from any negative changes as much as possible and fights for welfare/manpower, and strictly prohibits any form of politics.
Cons
Certain policies from higher management are questionable (forced to clear leave, including the following year's). Company unable to increase pay with promotion, and claims to "adjust salary based on market rates" but our salaries are well below market average, and adjustments are barely enough to match up to inflation/GST increase. Most engineers are overworked (and underpaid) due to a hiring freeze called by the management.
