Pros

Flexible schedule, work mostly from home/car, coworkers mostly helpful and friendly, office was easy to get to, lots of company dinners/lunches/events to socialize and unwind. Company is upfront about the pay system (100% commission) but heavily exaggerates the ease and time in which an employee can land their first account.

Cons

Scattershot approach to training and day-to-day operations. Nearly impossible to succeed without prior insurance experience, contrary to what they may have you believe. Most business owners/administrators unfriendly due to oversaturation of agents in almost every major city. Was emailed multiple times after leaving to inquire if I was interested in "employment with Aflac", obviously a blast email to everyone in the area with a college degree and without a job. Company relies heavily on leads, connections, accounts, etc. left to them by unhappy agents who are required to forfeit all materials upon their leaving the company after working hard for a few months and still seeing $0 in their bank account.

Pros

Freedom to be your own boss, trips, bonuses, renewable income (instead of one time commission), career instead of just a job. FORTUNE 500 and a World's most Ethical Company. Great training (at least here in Wyoming) and a family mentality. Great family/work balance.

Cons

No base pay, can be a slow start at first, you have to be very organized and self-driven, have to be licensed in life and health to sell insurance (but my management help with the process).
