Pros
Colleagues are generally nice people. I had two good bosses. Salary is decent but not amazing. You can become an expert in your field pretty easily.
Cons
Work can be very niche, so that is a pro or con depending on your preferences. There is not a lot of room for advancement on the editorial side. They don't spend a lot on their employees in terms of training, travel, etc.
