Pros

very talented peoples work in the market intelligence team which you can learn a lot from them.

Cons

I worked there for about two years. The company provided no onboarding or training, and the expectations were incredibly high. The managers lacked a clear vision, which resulted in frequent changes in their expectations. The workload was heavy, but the salary was enough to justify the work load. 10 hour work days and working on weekends was very common.

Pros

Working for a company that is the leader in its space exposes all employees to cutting edge technologies, know how and customer base. Lots of highly talented people to learn from and collaborate with. Little/no office politics. Feel like everyone wants the company to be successful. Lots of growth opportunities. Good work-life balance. The company supports remote and hybrid work. Arranges multiple activities to support team building and fun office atmosphere.

Cons

High workload at times. High churn at some admin positions

Pros

Ascend has an excellent work culture which emphasizes knowledge, value creation, and quality service to our clients. These are the foundations of our mission, which is to further the energy transition. What I most appreciate about this company is the fact that there is an honest conversation about what this means, and our approach remains pragmatic. You won't find the cliches of other companies here, and we believe in our work and results over slogans. Our CEO understands the work we do as individuals, and doesn't believe he is "above" us. He loves to hear from us, and sees the value of our contributions. You won't find a management disconnect, or commanding attitude from leadership. You aren't expected to ever "put on a show," and everyone is their best professional authentic self in the office.

Cons

Issues from legacy practices do return from time to time. Information can be better codified, and processes and documentation need to be refined. This lack of inter-team transparency can create some extra steps and many unnecessary meetings, but we are moving away from that.
