Pros
Hire great people that work alongside you. High performance business with high standards usually leading to results. Great processes. Good place to learn recruitment. 6 weeks of leave*. Care about contractors.
Cons
Cannot retain staff, whether it is management, consultants or even general office staff. Turnover is massive, over 30 people in 18 months for an office that had a maximum capacity of 25 at any period over that time. Staff consistently spoken down to, berated in front of fellow staff and micromanaged. Owner is out of touch with what is going on, which leads to mixed messaging through management. He is usually the cause of negativity and does not lead by example as other managers did during my time there. Contractors, who contract to government positions and have minimal internal knowledge of what happens internally at Ashdown people, have been asked to leave Glassdoor reviews.
