Pros
Most coworkers (middle management and below) are fantastic humans. Pleasant to work with, smart, caring individuals. Another bonus is free travel for gaming conventions, and discounts on board games. Generous PTO and good benefits. Flexible office hours.
Cons
The leadership in this organization is its biggest fault. Most of the leadership is made up of industry "veterans" who have failed up in their careers, and as such value tenure over anything else. The mantra that is pushed on everyone is that they are "lucky to be working in games." When asked for opinions on things, if challenged, they shut you down and keep you from further collaboration on the projects. Everyone is kept in the dark on everything all the time. Pay is very poor. Everyone is hired with a title, but get ready to scramble with all other employees to do every other job all the time. You will get virtually no transferable skills here, anyone capable is just slammed with busy work. Some low-mid level employees there have been there 5+ years and watch TV on their phones ignoring emails and work all day, and have lived through the mass layoffs and escape any possible discipline because of tenure alone. Constantly preaching of Values but do not honor them, in fact, actively work against them in some cases - it's all about the next selloff! Very little opportunity to grow and move within company. If you want to work in games or are considering partnering with Asmodee as a game company: I HEED you to look elsewhere.
