Mission-Driven Culture: A genuine sense of purpose across the board; people are here because they care about patient outcomes and community impact.
Technical & Clinical Excellence: As a major tertiary provider, there is a high standard for research, data integrity, and complex problem-solving.
Cons
Parking Pains: On-site parking is notoriously difficult to secure; if you aren't a fan of public transport, the morning scramble is real.

- Working a 40 hour week means we get one day off per month (roughly)
- Interesting work and learning lots (great experience)
- most of the patients are really lovely
- medical staff are very passionate and hard working
Cons
- poor pay
-shift work
- have to PAY for parking! often $10 a day or more ($31 a day at the main hospital)
- have to work across two locations (main hospital and Repat campus)
- a large workload and lots of things to be across
- public hospital so unfortunately wait times can mean some patients can be abusive
- the Austin advantage "salary sacrifice" is difficult and not easy
- not much acknowledgment /energy goes into the staff or makings staff feel valued
- public hospital funding restrictions
