Pros

- Salary packaging for meals, entertainment, car and living expenses up to 12k - close to the station - free eap - sometimes you would get access to the nike or adidas corporate stores - free flu shots every year - some of the people were nice - end of year free lunch - flexible hours - my manager prior to going on mat leave was great but as soon as upper management took over it all went downhill fast

Cons

Management don't care about retaining good staff. They like to keep those who they personally like and not based on their skills or knowledge. My role was purely admin but I was told I had to put myself out there more and get to know management more which is not required for my role aka suck up to management. I had applied to get a promotion but they deemed I was not ready after being there for over 4 years. If I was not ready then, I will never be ready so I left and it was the best decision I have ever made. If I got the promotion, I would have made about 20% more than what I was getting in my role at the time. However, since switching to the the dark side as my manager said at the time aka CRO, I can make double what I was making. The person who took over the role I applied for had no experience in the role and ended up micromanaging the team due to their incompetence leading to a mass exodus. I am sure they are looking back with regret. Now their team is full of people with no experience and they had a hard time recruiting anyone to the team. Other random cons: - Expensive carpark or free parking is a minimum 10 min walk but limited so you would have to get in early - paid by your award so your pay is non-negotiable and you get a 3% pay rise every year - understaffed - overworked - underappreciated - no funding - yearly reviews but no real career growth - no flexibility to work from home - we had to pay our portion for the christmas party - no block out period for admin staff - the teams can be quite clicky - management has been accused of bullying staff members.

Pros

Pay is as per award and generally paid on time with some exceptions for leave

Cons

Everything else. A toxic work environment with most staff only seeming to care about keeping up appearances. Any staff who actually care or try to improve processes are bullied out very quickly. Bullying and harassment policy is a joke - the company refuse to recognize this is a widespread issue or do anything about this when it is reported. The organization does not meet training requirements until explicitly forced, nursing ratios are regularly thrown out the window because they can’t find staff which puts extra pressure on everyone else (which is ignored by management due to constant understaffing), and recruitment processes are corrupt and completely based on who you know and whether the manager likes you. Worst for junior medical staff, staff are all overworked and burnt out and MWF act like they own them. Stay away - working in a rural hospital is better than signing your life away like this.
