Pros

Friendly colleagues at peer level

Cons

Unfortunately, my experience at Axelerant has been quite disappointing. There is a significant amount of internal politics, which creates an unhealthy and stressful work environment. Many decisions seem to be driven by personal agendas rather than what’s best for the team or the company. The organization appears to be struggling with project availability, and the few ongoing projects are heavily micro-managed. Feedback and performance reviews often feel arbitrary and lack clarity. When you try to discuss or understand the feedback, managers are frequently unable to justify their points with concrete examples, which makes growth and improvement difficult. There is also a noticeable lack of confidence among leadership. Senior individuals tend to interfere unnecessarily, often without a clear understanding, which leads to confusion rather than guidance. Leadership seems more focused on maintaining appearances especially on social media rather than investing in strong engineering practices or meaningful execution. Compensation and growth are also major concerns. The company is extremely tight when it comes to salary increments, and hikes are either minimal or not given at all, which can be demotivating over time. Ethics and transparency are also questionable. There are instances where client work and project handling raise concerns about professionalism and integrity. Overall, the company needs to focus on building a healthier work culture, improving leadership accountability, and prioritizing genuine engineering practices over optics.

Thank you for your feedback. While we disagree with this characterization of our leadership and culture, we recognize that experiences can differ from person to person. You've raised concerns that matter to us, around leadership clarity, fair feedback, compensation transparency, and the culture we're collectively building. These aren't small things, and we appreciate that you raised your concerns. Growth, feedback quality, and internal alignment continue to evolve as we scale and navigate changes across the industry. We believe performance conversations are most valuable when they are grounded, specific, and genuinely two-way, and we remain committed to maintaining and raising that bar. We also appreciate that you value your peer relationships here. That speaks to something real about who we are as a team. If you have specific concerns to raise, our Safe Space committee and anonymous feedback on Leapsome are there to listen and act. Additionally, we'd appreciate a direct conversation. Please feel free to reach out to people@axelerant.com. Your perspective can help us make real improvements, not just for yourself, but for the team as a whole.

Pros

Open communication when folks take advantage of it. Really able to work anytime and from anywhere given you communicate with your teammates and deliver needed results. Wide range of talents and interests within and outside of Axelerant itself. There's not a boring person here.

Cons

Despite being an open organization, some folks still don't speak up soon enough. I feel it's a cultural or past experience issue to overcome. No group health plan for local or international staff, but it's in the works. Passion sometimes lost in the drive for processes.

For Canada- and India-based employees, we do have health insurance. We're investigating such for other locales in 2021.
