Pros
As a medium sized company there are some good opportunities for development and early responsibility, especially in some of the more profitable areas of the business. There are lots of projects for high profile companies. There is a fair amount of flexibility in their business model.
Cons
This development does not just require hard work and talent but also often very long hours (again in the more profitable areas of the business). Furthermore, this development doesn't necessary equate to reward. Detica is now of a reasonable size and demands a lot of its employees but has not yet started to compensate its employees accordingly. People often end up in roles which they had not intended to move into. This is as a result of Detica not clearly differentiating between roles but instead grouping everyone together as consultants whether or not they actually do any consulting (at least in the less senior roles).
