Pros

There are four pros. They are: High Salary Good Benefits. Health care premiums are a bit expensive. Discounted Lunches Free Gym

Cons

Very poor work/life balance with high stress Tons of non-productive work because middle mgnt is constantly trying to prove their "worth" or "value" to senior bosses. They get promoted thanks to your work and you are left behind. Confused culture environment. BHP Petroleum is largely American culture, while BHP Petroleum Marketing adheres to Singaporean and Dutch culture. Actively solicits employee feedback to weed out folks who won't fit the servile mold. Poor career growth prospects BHP throws people into the really deep-end and will expect you to swim to shore without a compass unscathed. For those looking at the Senior Oil Market Analyst - Market Analysis & Economics role, four key points to keep in mind. They are: - You have 3 bosses to report to. 2 in Houston and 1 in Singapore. - You will be expected to be know the oil and petroleum products markets inside and out regardless of your expertise. That means long hours of research to get answers for (at times silly) questions since existing data subscriptions will not be tailored for your role. - Most folks, including your immediate boss, in marketing will know just enough about the oil markets to appear knowledgeable.

Pros

Some good co-workers and good challenges

Cons

Leadership in the Tucson office is highly political and unprofessional. Feedback is not given directly. Local leadership is more interested in Linkedin posting and image, rather than anything of substance.
