The pay is NOT on par with experience and workload. It is extremely unbalanced, to the point that they will pay most junior staff to be just under the cut-off for overtime (and they DO NOT pay overtime), then overwork the mid and upper staff since they are JUST OVER the minimum. If you have a family and you are a woman, turn and run. If you do not have kids or you are a man.. no problem. You could swing it if you sacrifice any personal life Monday through Friday.
Let's talk about managers. Some are awful, manipulating, complainers. Others just are clueless. It's not their fault, though. The company does not invest in properly training their managers on how to deal with personality differences, or how to grow their staff. They believe growing their staff allows them to move onto another company with a better title. So instead, they want to hold their thumb on you and keep you where you are with minimum % annual raise. Afterall, you are just a number and everyone is replaceable.
Bottom line, if you output lots AND LOTS of work you will get a mediocre pay check.
