- This is a China company despite them claiming to be international firm. You will be at severe disadvantage if you dont speak chinese. Meetings frequently conducted in chinese and almost all tech people only speak strictly chinese - Culture of bi-yearly firing of up to 20% workforce. They call it "bottom out". Replace bad performer with new hires. This create incredible distrust among colleagues because ultimately everyone compete with each other. - Fully remote but big brother culture. Your chatting system tracked your every movements: chat hours, chat time, meeting numbers etc. HR will question if u r below average. This create vicious cycle of people increasing their hours thereyby increasing overall average - Bi yearly compulsory 360 performance review to determine bonus/increment/promotion. But your direct leader has final say. So it does not matter how well you do your work, if you are not liked by your boss, you will get 0 or get fired anyway. Which is why the company has been in constant decline agains competitors and has lack of innovation of late as good talker but bad workers remain, while the quiet but intelligent people left - 0 work life balance. On weekends for your kida birthday or 3AM call from overseas while you are on holiday, best that you answer. - inefficient >10 cofounders who has their own way of thinking. They are very rarely on the same page, so you have to often recreate same work but with different format/details. - You are golden if you are close to cofounder. A junior staff jumped to senior management within 2 years. A lot of senior professionals previously from prestigious firms need to report to her which creates a lot of distrust and unhappiness - For outsiders, their value is "user focused". For internal employees kpi, all founders care about is market share and revenue AT ALL TIME. they are using questionable 3rd party vendor for market share data that again create unhappiness among workers - Has extreme fear of data leaks but implement nothing to prevent it. BU leader get blamed rather than the incompetent security team. Eg: they allow sending email anywhere without virtual account & no failsave prevention of employee plugging in private hard drive
