Pros

Very relaxed work environment; flexitime for most employees, freedom to work part time or take unpaid leave. Relatively light management structure (although this is changing). Lots of very nice people!

Cons

Low emphasis on technical skill, with soft skills seemingly preferred and low salaries above junior developer. A very strange company-wide attitude that code from other places is "bad" and code from Bluefruit is "good" (which is by no means the case), and an unhealthy company culture regarding criticism.

Hi I am really sorry that your time at Bluefruit ended so abruptly and negatively. Having held a job for a number of years and then being on the wrong end of a redundancy process is obviously harsh and very stressful, producing an extremely emotional situation. When a business finds itself in the position we were in, some difficult and painful decisions have to be made which will regrettably have an impact on some members of the team. Redundancy situations are always hard, and this was no exception; we deliberated long and hard over the fairest way to carry out the process and support the people going through it. However, that work can never adequately prepare for the devastating personal impact that being made redundant will inevitably have. If it has been made harder because you did not receive your PILON, please get in touch and I urge others to do the same. I hope that the pain will slowly recede and one day you will be able to look back on the those days and the friends you enjoyed working with.
