Pros

First and for most, I love my company and what I do now, as well as when I'm long gone(hopefully due to retirement). The company is very transparent with its employees. Being as large as it is this is a wonderful thing. If you've every looked up the duties and responsibilities of a leasing consultant, they are no different here, except above and beyond is the Bozzuto standard, so don't expect a gold star every time a resident comes in upset and you resolve their issue leaving them with a smile. The culture of the company is hit or miss at the site level. This is not really corporates fault as each property manager has his or her own way of leading. Some cultures, like mine, are fun, inviting, friendly yet able to accomplish daily duties. Some properties are more about the daily duties and fun is reserved for after hours when you've gone home to tell your friends about your crazy residents. However, overall, corporate does promote strong family values and that is truly a wonderful thing.

Cons

Every company has flaws depending on where you're positioned. this is where you have to be realistic. YOU WILL WORK WEEKENDS starting out as a sales and marketing associate. If you come from retail or any non-corporate job, this should not phase you. Also while most of your job is paperwork, auditing, marketing and resident management, you have to remember that this is a sales job. You're expected to hit or surpass a benchmark every month. Failure to do so can/will result in a write up or termination. So if you're trying to avoid sales, this is something to keep in mind. While upward movement is great it is limited and there are restrictions. It is limited because Bozzuto has this ability to find hire amazing and ambitious talent. Why is this a con? Well simply put, theres just not enough space for movement. Think of each property as a pyramid (not in the scheme way). Say you have a large property with an office staff of 5. Well you have three sales associates, one assistant manager, and of course a property manager. Any of the Sales people have to first, be with the company for a year, before they can even apply to that one, or any other, manager position. Bozzuto doesn't (yet) have enough vertical availability to allow such ambitious people to be promoted when due and as often as due. So, be realistic in your ambitions of moving up. Also the one year policy generally applies to lateral movements to such as from site to corporate and vice versa. While I am not directly affected by any of these (at the moment) I don't want anyone going into the interview without realistic expectations. This is a great company to work for and grow with. But it is still just a company and you have to be mindful.
