Pros
Having all local projects is efficient, but repetitive. The owner is nice although does not like conflict.
Cons
No creativity at all, all of the projects have reused furniture, styles, and design details over and over. You could take one project presentation and apply it to all the others. The layout of the presentations never change, all done in powerpoint. Nothing pushes the envelope. Poor communication with staff. The owner is all over the place, never gives away any responsibility which makes it hard to have complete ownership in the projects. The employee who has been there the longest still has to have even the smallest details approved, can't make any decisions on his own. The technology is subpar, the computers are all apple products which is really nice, however, all of the programs are out of date. The owner does not like conflict and will not give you honest feedback. Hires under false pretenses and does not follow through with his word. There are no standards to the way the documentation is organized. Because the team is so small all of the files are different from project to project and employee to employee. The only thing that is standardized is the font used in email signatures. The company is actually split into two and under two different names which is confusing to vendors. There is not enough work for the staff. Many employees were not kept busy. The owner has the employees do many personal errands including buying accessories, having his cars maintained, buying stationary, making personal calls.
