CERN is a great place to work and develop your skills. The hierarchy is very flat and it's pretty easy to make a large impact. Hands-off management: there's lots of leeway for "personal projects", which keeps CERN innovating and improving. If you like a particular methodology or tool, nobody will tell you you can't use it.
Cons
All that leeway also means there are inefficiencies and sometimes things can get out of control. There may be several systems performing the same function, or your system of choice might change more than you would like.

Pros
The employment process is very smooth and supportive. The technical team interviewed me for technical skills, and the HR is very supportive and helpful. Especially I haven't been employed by CERN previously, so I have a lot of questions. The employment team is very helpful and answered all my questions patiently. Also I like the job and my work very much.
Cons
Maybe the primary communication method could be email instead of phone calls? I sometimes miss phone calls, but will check every email.
