Pros

Coworkers are nice to work with

Cons

Uneven distribution of work. Some staff do more work than others. We are overstaffed, management is cutting back a lot on employee hours because of a decrease in donors and extending work hours, placing strain on opening and closing staff. Management is very difficult to work with. The manager is disrespectful and speaks unprofessionally to staff. The assistant manager is uneducated and knit picks very unnecessary things that does not contribute to efficiency and production in the work place. Poor work-life balance. Employees are scheduled to work sometimes 7-9 days straight without a day off. There is no room for growth unless you're a friend or favorite employee of management/quality. Escalating complaints to HR and higher management does not do anything for employees. Employees do not have a voice here. High turnover of staff.

Pros

I made a lot of friends there, and the employees on the floor were almost always very hard workers

Cons

The higher up in leadership you go the less you actually seem to care for the people actually doing the hardest work on the floor. The donors are often mean and impatient. And don't get kicked out if they are repeatedly an issue on the floor, because that's a loss of plasma. Many centers won't kick out anyone with veins that aren't suitable to be stuck. It's often up to the donor to walk out with two blown veins to decide not to come back.
