Pros
You actually do engineering here - building stuff not just powerpoint decks. The people are really smart and pretty down to earth. It’s easy to ask questions and you pick things by osmosis. Loads of variety - you won’t get bored. Recently it’s felt more settled. For a while it was a bit directionless but it feels steadier now. Being an employee-owned company, people really care. Fantastic in-house restaurant - yum!
Cons
It can get busy quickly when client timelines change. You might be on several projects at once and it can be a lot to cope with. Training is a bit hit-and-miss. Some teams are brilliant at helping juniors, but mostly you fend for yourself with little HR support. Sometimes you end up re-doing things because different projects do the same things in different ways. Leadership and sales teams of variable quality and morality.
