Pros

There are some excellent professionals working in different groups at the company. The products mostly are solid although a bit outdated.

Cons

Top management suffers from groupthink and does not delegate important matters. There is an insular culture at HQ which is different from what remote employees experience. Many people-related decisions are influenced by cronyism or favoritism. The HR function is poorly managed, which is ironic to say the least. A growing number of employees are seeing through the platitudes and spin coming from management, now realizing that this company is plagued by a number of issues. The bailout by the PE firm and Microsoft, as well as the current layoff (and the way it was handled) are even greater warnings for the talent that remains.

We would be very interested in knowing more specifics about what you feel should be delegated, where you feel there is favoritism, and what you feel is poorly managed within HR. We invite you to speak with us to share more details. We would like to offer one point of clarity to your mention of how the layoffs were handled. In all cases, we are aiding those impacted in the transition through financial compensation and outplacement services. While no amount of that can make up for no longer having a job, we ensured that everyone that was impacted was treated with dignity and respect throughout the process.

Pros

The people by far were the reason I stayed at the company for so long. Working with people who helped be part of the solution rather than part of the problem was exciting and fun. Working to solve issues together and collaboratively supporting each other was a great way to drive cross functional collaboration and success,

Cons

Senior leadership is a constant turnover with consistent pivots in strategy and direction before there was time to test if something was working. WIth consistent reductions in force, teams have found it hard to stay motivated and unclear as to what the current strategy is. Decisions are made with little context or reasoning to the middle management layer which causes dissatisfaction across the frontline teams. Comp plans were often delayed, incorrectly paid and something we had to spend a ton of time figuring out if we were getting paid correctly or missing something.
