Pros
- A decent salary and opportunities for advancement for people wishing to work within this environment.
Cons
- Lack of training and an assumption that you are able to jump straight in and work at the same target-driven fast pace as other long-term employees upon commencing the role. Lack of clear information about the role and what it involves at interview stage. - High staff turnover (during my time at Covidien I witnessed two employees quit with no immediate job lined up for them and several employees suffering from stress-related illnesses). - High frequency of meetings and lack of time and appropriate staffing levels to complete the workload. - A highly target-driven environment, right down to the lowest level roles, and a general workplace culture observed of working extra unpaid hours on a daily basis to keep on top of the workload. Overall I would strongly advise considering whether this working environment is right for you before accepting the job.
