Pros
Nearly free cable and internet are nice. Health insurance package is decent compared to similar jobs elsewhere. Several weeks of paid vacation every year is nice. Cox is a diverse employer- it has an extremely promising variety in its work force. Pay grades at Cox are very competitive.
Cons
*Cox management tell employees they are listening to feedback but seem to rarely put the ideas to use. *Employees who submit complaints to management about their concerns regarding work conditions and job responsibilities do not seem to last very long in technical support. *Cox does not guarantee breaks to front line employees in Oklahoma at least- if an employee misses a break helping customers they are expected to let it go. *Paid vacation is nice but it also doubles as sick time so it can sometimes be hard to take a vacation if you spend very much time at all sick. *In recent years the tech call center seems to never have enough employees to take the call volume and work load being required of them- resulting ultimately in very long hold times for customers. *As a company Cox promotes an image as the customer's "friend" but it is hard to support that image as a front line employee when the company spends a lot up front to get a customer but once that initial sale is made doesn't offer many good choices to trying to keep them.
