Pros

none take this job only if the alternative is to starve to death.

Cons

they are the worst company in America for a reason. forced overtime Scam of a health insurance, once u sign u they say you are covered, BUT EVERY DOCTOR YOU GO TO YOU WILL GET A BILL IN THE MAIL AND CIGNA THE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY DOES NOT PAY A PENNY ON YOUR BEHALF. but they take hundreds of dollars from your paycheck for health insurance. 10 hour days, back to back calls which is fine but dish as a company loses channels everyday and fights everyone... so you will be stuck with really bad calls. technician visits cost 95 dollars. try explaining that to a customer whose cable is not working who is stuck in a contract and hast o pay 95 dollars to get his dish fixed. insider info : dish's service is really bad because technicians don't install it properly. To get cleat signal dish it has to be pointed at a very specific angle, which 95 percent of technicians won't do meaning if it gets a little drizzle, your dish will go out. EMPLOYEES dish gets installed properly so for example my dish even during the hurricane sandy worked fine. coaches are horrible. high school kids with no respect, you will be called bad names cursed at and yelled at. Meanwhile, coaches themselves don't do anything. One time my coach got mad at our team because he was watching a soccer game and we asked him to help. I am not kidding. Another time, he was playing foootball, in the middle of the call center and throwing football around. Don't believe me, pick up the phone and dial the dish customer service number for NY. You will be hear lots of background noise... its not the agents working but coaching laughing and playing games. They steal from your paycheck and fire the top people to save money. They manipulate the system so the top performing agents can't make any bonus. What happens is they go into the system and LITERALLY EDIT YOUR NUMBERS so that your bonus is taken away, Same thing with your paycheck. They will take away money for no reason. 30 minutes lunch on a 10 hour shift. YUP lunch at 11 AM mandatory. So imagine starting work at 9 AM. First break will be at 10, then lunch at 11. So you can't really eat lunch at 11, So you will take calls from 11 AM to 6 pm straight without any food or breaks while your managers and coaches eat lunch in your face, curse at you and throw footballs around you and A LOT OF TIME AT YOUR DESK AS A "JOKE" BUT THEY WILL THROW IT REALLY HARD. Get ready to starve, get verbally and physically abused as a "joke", money stolen from you, health insurance that steals money. TRUST ME WORK HERE AND YOU WILL SEE IT TRUE FOR YOURSELF. OR take my advice and find a more humane place to work. Hitler would have been proud of this.

Pros

Work from home is the only pro I can think of

Cons

They don’t provide any equipment aside from the computer itself. They mislead you during the interview and job description. You are paid according to price of product sold and close rate however it’s all inbound calls and you can not call back. The inbound calls are lousy, people who don’t even have a $1 on a card in order to do the eligibility check, or no card at all.. poor credit which leads to higher out of pocket costs. I think only a handful of times I couldn’t overcome the spousal objection or the just shopping objection. Those I will take responsibility for but if I’m getting calls from people who don’t have a card or don’t have a $ or don’t have the money to put down OR already have an account or is a mis-transfer or were passed along because the technicians have to make referrals even though the customer isn’t actually interested in the product yet the tech makes them still call.. that’s crap and it’s not real sales.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective with us. Hearing about your day-to-day reality in sales—from lead quality to equipment needs—is incredibly valuable as we continuously work to refine our internal processes and onboarding experience. While we are glad you enjoyed the flexibility of working from home, it is disheartening to learn that you felt misled by our initial job description and interview process. We want to ensure our teams feel properly supported and equipped to succeed in their roles. Our People Operations team would welcome the opportunity to dive deeper into your feedback regarding our commission structures and lead generation systems. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at peopleoperations@dish.com so we can better understand your specific situation. Thank you again for your candor in this situation.
