Pros

The health benefits were pretty good, through Cigna. There are locations all over the country so if you have to move, odds are you will be able to find a clinic where you are going to. They also have business offices in a number of areas if you're not in a clinic environment.

Cons

I have never in all my years of working met a group of more immature people than at Davita. Management is political in the high school sense. I thought a corporate environment was political but Davita could give lessons. Promotions and even keeping your job is based on whether or not managers are friends with you. Mine was a pathological liar, sweet to my face and back stabbed me when I wasn't around. The internal systems are difficult to work with and don't communicate well between them. Finding anything on the "Village Web" (their intranet) is next to impossible. Patients who are on commercial insurance are practically worshiped. They send out "guest services" people to welcome them to the clinic and will bend over backwards for any whim they might have. On the other hand Medicare patients are virtually ignored. The clinic staff doesn't treat them different but corporate clearly sends a message that Medicare/Medicaid patients are a burden and that they love "hipper" patients because they can charge commercial insurance more per treatment. Which is very interesting given that 95% of their patients are on Medicare!

Pros

Management supports a work-life balance, hours are flexible, okay benefits. Good training opportunities and there is effort by management to support a good work culture. 6 weeks at 80% of pay Paternity/Maternity & Adoption leave. 401K with 6% matching. For 2 adults, we pay for Davita's Anthem BCBS healthcare plan and it is $350/month (4,700 deductible).

Cons

Payscale isn't aggressive - 1% raise each year. You also may be asked to cover other clinics temporarily without fair compensation for the extra workload.
