Pros

The training and onboarding for sales teams is fantastic. Having worked with many IT companies, Datadog is a stand out in terms of not just initial onboarding but continuous training opportunities. If you want to learn a lot about sales, this is the place to do it. The culture in the Dublin office is very open, friendly, and energetic. The old school egotistical sales leadership style just does not exist here.

Cons

The targets are certainly tough for AEs and so that may not be for everyone. Like any company that is growing rapidly, you need to be flexible and along for the ride, there are a ton of companies in Dublin that are more established in terms of process etc. so if you prefer the stability and consistency of that then maybe Datadog isn't for you.

Pros

Datadog has a strong product, smart coworkers, and a fast paced environment that teaches you a lot quickly. I learned a tremendous amount about observability, technical discovery, outbound prospecting, and how modern engineering organizations operate. The company has also gives reps exposure to large accounts and technical conversations early in their careers.

Cons

The ramp for newer AEs can feel steep, especially in a hgihly competitive outbound environment. Success often depends on timing, territory, pipeline momentum, and consistent coaching. There can also be a significant pressure tied to activity metrics and pipeline generations, which may be difficult for reps still developing confidence and process consistency.
