Pros

Great mission, which attracts some great people to work with.

Cons

Culture is terrible due to the founder. Founder dangerously accuses people of bullying to get her way, micromanages every single person in the company, boldly lies (and gaslights), screams at employees, pits people against each other, harshly criticises employees under the guise of "feedback culture" with no concrete examples. Her behaviour permeates through the whole company. It is shocking this can happen in a workplace, let alone a mission driven one. She has no respect for experience and chooses instead to hire yes men and fires any real managers as soon as they ask too many questions or she doesn't get her way. So expect multiple managers to come and go and to be micromanaged by her, all in in which makes for a very unsettling environment. You will have no job security as the founder will never be transparent or honest about the companies finances.

Pros

I loved my time at Daye as that experience unlocked a host of opportunities for me, both personally and professionally! I was given ample chances to grow by leading key company projects. I would also want to emphasize how collaborative and open-minded the team was. Every suggestion or recommendation was thoroughly evaluated based on its merit rather than random preconceptions! I would definitely recommend Daye as a place to work and grow!

Cons

Nothing particular beyond the typical high intensity of working at a startup. I wouldn’t say it was terrible and management definitely strived to make it easier to cope with by providing free access to coaching and other relevant resources.

Pros

- The company’s mission and vision are strong and inspiring on paper. - A few talented and hardworking individuals genuinely try to do their best despite the environment. - Provides an opportunity to learn resilience and how to navigate difficult workplace dynamics.

Cons

- Efforts to do the right thing are punished rather than encouraged. - Major decisions that affect employees are often communicated poorly, with little transparency or respect for those impacted. - HR lacks independence, with key roles tied too closely to the founder/CEO, creating zero trust if you raise concerns. - Leadership can present a supportive face, but when real issues are raised, promises are made and then quietly withdrawn. Instead of addressing concerns, criticism is redirected toward the employee, often with harsh and demoralising feedback. - Strong favouritism for “yes-man” behaviour rather than merit or constructive contributions. - Gossip and cliques foster a toxic, divisive culture that undermines collaboration and trust.
