Pros

There once were many good reasons to work at Deltek. It was a growing company with a bright future, and opportunity was everywhere. The location is still good and most salaries are at least comparable to others in the industry. As far as job satisfaction goes, though, a job at Deltek today is just inside work with no heavy lifting.

Cons

There is no direction to the company at all. What little managerial guidance is available to the working staff is either massively inconsistent or, worse, contradictory. As a result, the product cycle is so long, that new features are often either obsolete or a commodity by the time they go to market. In fact, the product offerings have become as stagnant as the stock price and the revenues. The problem starts at the top. The CEO's management philosophy comes straight from whatever business self-help book he read last. Unfortunately, he reads several a week. Can you imagine trying to lead a global enterprise with the wisdom gleaned from "Five Frogs on a Log?" His entire resume consists of being in the right place at the right time, but not too long. This time, though, he has stayed long enough for his real abilities (or lack thereof) to surface. Having plowed through the annual 10K filing recently, I was dismayed at the exorbitant salaries, bonuses, stock grants, stock options and directors' fees paid to the top execs while laying off talented, experienced employees. This company is ripe for a minority stockholders' lawsuit.

Pros

Great management of hours and benefits keep me happy. Engaging remote presence

Cons

Salary could be better. Training for some products is non existent and reliance on AI is very high.

Pros

Good culture and supportive coworkers One thing that stands out is that employees repeatedly talk about the people being collaborative and easy to work with. For CSM teams especially, there are comments about low internal drama and strong teamwork.

Cons

Morale dips after layoffs: Common issue in enterprise SaaS. Remaining employees sometimes inherit extra accounts or responsibilities after reductions. Internal communication can get corporate/vague. Employees sometimes mention leadership messaging during reorganizations feels polished but not fully transparent. Career growth uncertainty during restructures: When leadership changes or teams merge, promotions and advancement
