Pros

The employees that makes up the Denver Post are a great group who are passionate about their purpose in journalism and advertising. The Denver Post has won multiple Pulitzer Prizes and has a respectable product, including the digital agency side, AdTaxi. An advertising position with Denver Post could, at the least, be a good way to get you feet wet in advertising sales or ad operations.

Cons

The overall outlook of the company and their trajectory is glossed over by the CEO and department heads; time and time again, employees are reassured the company is stable, but they're experiencing declining revenue, constant layoffs and employees that are stretched thinner and thinner. Sadly, they have moved from their downtown location and are operating out of their printing plant in Commerce City in an attempt to cut costs. The systems that function within The Post are antiquated, do not speak to one another and the OS that powers their operation is an outdated version of Windows. Unfortunately, they have outsourced all creative support to India and their billing department is currently a third party that supports all DFM properties. No 401K match, 2 weeks vacation to start (pretty standard, but you can likely ask for more if you're negotiating) and sub par benefits compared to other companies operating at a similar capacity.
