Pros

-Many clients are non-profits -Big name clients for your resume -Beer Thursdays and free food

Cons

-Not a fan of the management -If you aren't in the group of favorites, then don't expect much -Management buffed a huge project and lost a ton of money, so instead of firing the new partner who was responsible, they laid off a quarter of the company with no warning. If there was ever a time that showed how little they value their employees... -Encouraged everyone to work long hours due to poor project management from above, with bribes of hefty bonuses. Never gave said bonus.

Digital Pulp Response
8y
We are always sorry to see negative feedback, but wanted to respond to these comments citing events from over 2 years ago. In 2014 we did in fact lose money on a large project for a non-profit cause. We did in fact lose several people at the end of that year. And like at every other agency, people on this project did put in extra hours to help meet a deadline, and each hour was deeply appreciated by us, our client, and (we hope) by the audience who is still being helped by all our efforts for this philanthropic initiative. On a financial note, we have always had a bonus program for 100% of our employees. In lean years like that one, the bonuses are in fact lean. That said, Digital Pulp has nearly doubled in size since that time, and our staff has enjoyed solid bonuses every year. We consider rough patches as an opportunity to learn, and in the past 3 years we’ve done all we can to become smarter, more careful in our approach, and more clear in our commitment to our employees and their contributions. We’ve just completed a couple of the strongest years in our 20+ year history, and it’s our team’s shared goal to continue our growth and success.

Pros

DP has overcome growing pains in the last few years. It went from being a small agency fighting to win projects to a small agency with new business coming out of its ears. It was challenging to keep up with the work load while the agency evolved. A lot of folks stuck around because we love this crazy place and management has since added a lot of really smart people who share our passion for making this a great place to work. The in-house technology team almost tripled in size and our final product is even more robust and polished. These folks are approachable and love a challenge. The design team doubled and it's still growing. There are designers at every level who are doing beautiful work and helping each other out. All the project managers are senior level. They each march to their own drum so every project is run a little bit differently but they do a good job making sure everyone enjoys a work/life balance. Senior management is very hands-on. They recognize hard work and reward it generously.

Cons

- Some bread-and-butter projects aren't very exciting - Health insurance is expensive (but this is offset by bonuses and standardized raises) - Open office space isn't for everyone
