Pros
EHG's core game, Last Epoch, is fantastic and has been created by passionate designers and devs. It has been a dream come true to work on this product. Working with a diverse team in a remote environment can be lots of fun. Working from home in comfortable.
Cons
Sadly, leadership has tainted the atmosphere and now just takes advantage of passionate people before throwing them aside. There used to be wonderful managers who actually cared for their teams and took care of them. Now leadership is just made up of western corporate greed and narcissist's. Leaders/Managers actively pit teams against one another. QA vs Dev, Dev vs Art, Ops vs Backend, etc.. EHG has fallen victim to the same combative and aggressive nature as other studios I have worked at. Pay is atrocious. When I joined a couple years ago it made sense that pay would be low given the small size of the company and Early Access title. But after a huge investment from Tencent and sales from Multiplayer release - pay is still awful. At least for most. We recently found out that certain devs make, literally, $100,000 USD MORE than other devs. That's right - management's favorites make $100,000 more than other devs who have been here longer and work just as hard. I can only have so many flatmates to compensate for this poor pay. What once started as a team of devs has turned into just another capitalist greed campaign that is ran by selfish and greedy capitalists. Such a sad story for what could have been a great studio.
