Pros
Decent work environment, decent benefits, most Emory hospitals have Magnet recognition
Cons
When I was working as a floor/staff RN, I would regularly get bumped off the schedule in favor of a travel RN due to hospital policy that travel RN's are on contract and therefore still have to get paid whether they work or not, whereas staff RN's can just take out PTO. Also regularly had a high patient to RN ratio and very little help on the floor, management would not help the situation. I am no longer a staff RN and am working a desk job (phones and pools), but feel that I am often scrutinized for whether I am meeting quotas even though I am given very little work at times. I can only do as much work as I am given so I feel it is unfair to criticize for not doing more than what you are given.
