Pros
- I’ve never looked back
Cons
I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car for a period of time, and unfortunately, it was an extremely unpleasant experience. The company made a lot of promises about opportunities for promotion, but it was frustrating to realize that these opportunities were entirely dependent on job openings. I saw colleagues waiting for over three years for a promotion that never came, which was incredibly disheartening. Additionally, the constant pressure to maintain a positive attitude and make cold calls was overwhelming. It was almost as if the company wanted us to force a false positivity to create a certain atmosphere, which created an uncomfortable work environment. The pressure was so high that it ruined my relationship with my family and friends. One of the most concerning aspects was the company's apparent efforts to create a false positive image online. As part of training, every assistant manager was asked to create a perfect Glassdoor review, which seems to suggest that the company was worried about their online reputation. This is very problematic because it means that potential employees may be misled by these reviews and not fully aware of what the work environment is like. To be honest, I don't think I learned any valuable management skills during my time at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Instead, my role felt more like that of a glorified taxi driver or delivery driver dropping off cars to customers I barely interacted with. I would not recommend this company to anyone who is looking for opportunities to develop their skills or to have a fulfilling job experience.
