Pros
- Engaged, empathetic, and smart people working on the ground - Wonderful mission of simplifying very complex and confusing processes often at difficult times for people - Culture was great with interesting, light-hearted rituals like Passion Talks, Friday 5's, and Slack banter
Cons
- No accountability for disastrous decision making from the Exec and Leadership Teams. For example, not focusing on cultivating strong Product leadership, attempting to "win" the Funerals Market with PPC only, and ignoring the needs that would make the Sales & Ops teams successful - Very political at the top: members of Leadership Team promoted to Exec Team without any role responsibilities, prior knowledge, nor criteria for selection - The departures of the COO and CTO in mid-2021 sparked a steep decline in the quality of decision-making. Most decisions since have been fairly blatant power grabs, NOT mission-led, market-led, or even data-led - It's clear the other founding Exec members were the foundation for the CEO, and without them he is flailing, leading to a chaotic environment that has led to mass burnout
