Pros

Excellent brand that gets you in the door with companies you call upon. Also helps to have the FedEx name at your back when you have to prospect for new business. You have the ability to plan your days the way you want around your schedule, so work life balance is great. The relationships you build are great because you're helping people with their business. Competition is usually FedEx vs UPS. Plenty of opportunities if you want to move around in the company.

Cons

Onboarding is really poor. The training you receive is good on a corporate level, but there's so much to learn that it's a 'trial by fire' mentality while learning from your other reps in the area. their plate is full, too, so if you don't have any team players, you could be screwed. It's a general consensus that you don't feel remotely comfortable until at least a year on the job. Expectations of calls per day is not set in stone, but it might come up if you're not performing and consistently closing business. If you thrive off of a team atmosphere and interaction with team members, this is not the job for you. Perform or they won't hesitate to manage you out.

Pros

Easy to apply, fast to get hired (no interview process) and the pay

Cons

Very rude management, lack of care for safety, no drinkable water (all filters are in the red and have been since I started) They have cameras everywhere and are constantly watching you but say you can’t bring your own phone in because “people steal them”? There is junk everywhere. Lots of trash everywhere (employees drinks and food). They want you to work and eat on the line instead of giving you breaks to do so. They get upset when you use the bathroom or fill your water bottle even if you’ve been working for 3 hours straight but if you clock in at an area 2 min walking distance from your work area you’re “stealing time” I’ve noticed people of color get treated differently. The HR department has some of the most prejudice employees so there’s no real equality if you have conflict with someone. I’ve never been, but it feels like a prison to go in and out of the building and lastly you don’t work a consistent schedule. You leave when they say you can.
