Freedom in working hours and place, freedom and variety in topics, smart people, bleeding edge tech.
Cons
No mentorship or guidance (not good for starters!), slow feedback loops, not a lot of career progress, dubious whether the company adds value to society at all. Sometimes you have to write proposals or are involved in boring non-technical work. Salary low-ish for the talent they hire.
