Pros

At Flowserve you get alot of responsibility right away. When I first started as an Application Engineer I was expected to create proposals for jobs valued around $1M. This type of responsibility gives you high visibility (which can be a good thing or a bad thing). Y You get to work with great people, I absolutely loved working with the people there. Many of the Engineers are young, fresh graduates, so they all learn with you and you can also hang out after work.

Cons

Flowserve keeps you busy ....very busy. I was so busy that I found myself working 10+ hour days for weeks. The pay is also below the average for Applications Engineers in Houston. My biggest issue with Flowserve was the lack of a growth path for employees, especially the young engineers. Management needs to create a growth plan for employees and also provide training so their engineers can be more attractive in the 'marketplace'. Things like PMP training is a good start.
