Scumbag company that will do ANYTHING to exploit employees - Customer Service Representative Foundever Employee Review

Pros

Work from home was necessary in my situation (disabled)

Cons

$9 with extremely small chance of raise (ever) for even the best employees. I've seen people who had been with Sitel 3+ years and were incredibly good at their job, doing huge work loads everyday and still never got a single raise. This company goes beyond that and will do dirty little tricks to prevent employees from making any sort of livable income. They won't even give 32 hours/week to full time employees when demand for workers is low (don't ask me how they get away with that). To top it all off, they fought my claim for unemployment insurance after they told me I was fired because I wasn't able to pay my internet bill ($9/hr for family of 4) and lied to the state and told them that I had quit! Which is not what they told me when I spoke with a supervisor. Spare yourself this aggravation.

Pros

Some level of job security. You know exactly what you're doing because it's a call center. Different client projects that you could apply to be part of. Located in Orem by the mall. Decent pay ($25 an hour... for now).

Cons

You can't have anything on the call floor depending on the client (I support Intuit, so there are no phones, paper, pencils, books... nothing). The benefits are atrocious. PTO doesn't start until after 6 months. Company politics and favorites exist here. I'd say about 30% of calls get transferred to us from other departments (Payroll, Payments, Desktop, Saves, Sales, pretty much everyone) that should not have been transferred and could have been solved without us. They're going to hire more account resolution specialists soon after so many agents left, and they're starting their pay at $20 an hour.... so just think about what means for us. You get one occurrence per day you are absent even if you call in sick. I think 10 is the limit.
