Pros

Absolutely none. Regretted my decision from day one.

Cons

Unfortunately, my overall experience was less than favorable. I feel it's essential to share my insights to provide a comprehensive picture for potential employees. Working there proved to be a challenging journey due to several factors that significantly impacted the work environment. The most prominent issue was the presence of a seemingly sexist TA manager who fostered a threatening atmosphere. Daily reminders of job insecurity created a stressful environment, leading to a palpable sense of tension among the staff. Not to mention excessive micromanagement and blatant favouritism. One of the most glaring instances of ethical lapse was the behavior of the Talent Acquisition manager. During the early stages of the pandemic, when responsible companies were swiftly embracing remote work to ensure employee safety, our TA manager took a starkly different approach. Disregarding the well-being of the staff, he insisted on in-office work until the national lockdown was imposed. This lack of empathy and foresight demonstrated a concerning disregard for the health and safety of employees. Adding to the distressing situation, the same TA manager displayed an alarming nonchalant attitude towards the gravity of the pandemic. He openly laughed at the virus, dismissing concerns with a statement suggesting that the young age of employees rendered them immune to any serious consequences. Such a callous approach to a global health crisis not only showcased a lack of leadership but also raised questions about the company's commitment to the welfare of its workforce. Another concern was the lack of flexibility and the constant pressure to work overtime. While the expectation for dedication to the job is understandable, the strict adherence to punctuality contrasted sharply with the absence of any accommodation for personal needs. It became apparent that the company prioritized adherence to rigid schedules over the well-being of its employees. Moreover, GE displayed a concerning lack of innovation. From outdated laptops, 90s style offices, to outdated mindsets, the company seemed stuck in a time warp, hindering any potential progress. The absence of a forward-thinking approach not only stifled individual growth but also contributed to a culture of regression rather than advancement. The HR department, unfortunately, did not prove to be a reliable source of support. On multiple occasions, I witnessed instances of dishonesty aimed at protecting senior management. This lack of transparency eroded any trust in the system, making it difficult for employees to address concerns and seek fair treatment. In conclusion, my time at GE was marked by challenges that ultimately outweighed any positive aspects. I hope this review serves as a candid reflection of the work culture at the company and aids potential employees in making informed decisions about their career choices.
