Pros

Local, close to home, short drive, decent benefits.

Cons

The USA office is simply the most toxic office I have ever worked at in my over 30 years of employment in corporate settings. The two women in charge of the office at the time I left clearly never worked in a professional office environment. GEW was the place I expected to retire from and was distraught finding myself looking for a new job a mere few months into my employment there due to the tension and unprofessional behavior of the managers. Sadly, this behavior by one manager was also exhibited when she had to communicate with customers whose first language was not English. While one manager was incredibly passive aggressive to employees, the other regularly verbally diminished the hard-working staff. I realized I dreaded going to work and was powerless to make an impact to behavior that is ingrained in the company's culture.

Pros

The pay was decent and most of the co-workers were easy to get along with. Fully paid healthcare.

Cons

The management does not have good people skills.. The job is easy, but management creates a stressful work environment. Not much respect for out side of work issues unless it is happening to management.

Pros

I have been with GEW for over 20 years, starting as a Graduate Engineer straight out of University and progressing into a senior management role. During this time, I have seen the organisation grow significantly and have had the opportunity to grow alongside it. GEW designs and manufactures Arc and UV LED curing systems for printing, coating and converting applications, and has developed into a global leader in its field. It offers the unique benefit of a close-knit environment where everyone knows each other, while still being large enough to provide diverse and rewarding career opportunities for individuals who actively embrace GEW’s values and ethos. This is clear from impressive figures of almost 60% of staff having completed more than 5 years’ service. The culture at GEW is collaborative and results-driven. Regular team-building activities and social events contribute to a positive and engaging workplace. The second generation of family management is bringing fresh ideas and a modern management approach, while maintaining the company’s strong core values. Recent introduction of flexi-time initiative is widely welcomed by the staff and is supporting vital work–life balance. The business is also entering an exciting new phase, with a purpose-built advanced manufacturing centre being developed next to the existing headquarters, supporting further growth and innovation over the coming decade.

Cons

GEW relatively has a flat management structure which favourably supports fast decision-making and agility; however, in some cases, may limit broader involvement of the stakeholders in decision-making process.
