Pros
- International exposure/feeling connected to non-western world
- Opportunity to travel to interesting places
- Knowing that work done is saving operators in developing countries large amounts of money. Contributing to organic economic growth. Eliminating inefficiencies in the telecommunications world. I.e. work is meaningful and impacts entire countries.
- Independence
- Intelligent, ambitious colleagues
- Competitive, fun working environment. NOT BORING.
- Lack of bureaucracy at company (this is subjective--could be a con, but for me it is a pro)
Cons
- Work starts at 6 AM
- Often stressful
- If in sales, some days can be hugely frustrating, others can be hugely rewarding. A lot of up and down. Can be hard to reach people, barriers to entry, etc. Again, this lack of stability is subjective, for some could be a con, for others could be a pro. I personally like it -- makes things exciting.
