Pros
- If you are *extremely* into defense or submarines, this could be like heaven to you. I had coworkers who love this company to the point that all they would talk about even outside of work is submarines. Only submarines. - Some of the teams here are better than others. - If you enjoy the smell of asbestos, lead and other containments, the Groton Shipyard is for you. Otherwise, the New London office is relatively clean and modern.
Cons
- Management is disorganized to the point that instead of taking accountability for their own actions, they shift the blame on their employees and tell them they're not working hard enough. I had colleagues who, no matter how much work they got done within even 50 hours, were always told that they were still not working enough. - Not working overtime, as in 45+ hours, depending on your supervisor is factored into whether you get promoted. Some of the supervisors I've had even used my supposed personality traits as "reasons" as to why I didn't get promoted (e.g. somehow I was too antisocial and too talkative towards my colleagues all at the same time???) - The technology used is *extremely* outdated to the point that there is still dust on some of the servers...some of which are from the '80s. The software used at other engineering companies is light-years ahead of whatever is supposed to be going on at EB. - Some colleagues can be very cliquey, close-minded and unaccepting. - Pay is still not as competitive as other companies.
