Pros
The first day of excitement to see a submarine before the disappointment of how much this job sucks.
Cons
EB is the worst defense contractor you could get into as an engineer. There’s literally a labor union for everyone else but engineers. Unlike other defense contractors, there is no 9/80 work schedule, they just expect you to work extra hours until you hit 45 a week (oh and you don’t get overtime for those 5 hours by the way). Think you’ll get great benefits? Nope, nothing better than anywhere else you’d get... like bonuses that are out of your control because they are based on how everyone at the company does so one bad apple and you get no bonus. Also, it’s a perfect if you wanna do nothing and still get promoted at the same rate as hard workers since your output doesn’t reflect anything. It’s also a hit or miss: your department might have a lot of work and it’s overwhelming or they don’t and you just get bored. Take me for example: I had a busy Department but I had to spend all my time writing tedious “reports” about things that barely have anything to do with actual engineering work. After 2 years of being stuck here, my group has had 4 engineers leave within a year by how terrible it is and my group is not getting people hired in time. So I quit, because it’s not worth it. Please, look at other places, love yourself because EB won’t.
