Pros
Some amazing, really talented people. Got to be involved with some fascinating work. I felt tremendous pride being a part of the mission. Good benefits. My immediate team was awesome and I really miss many of those people.
Cons
Badly broken inter company communications. Huge us versus them attitude between many groups. A minority of old timers, though likely very hard workers, if you need to depend on them for information and your need is low priority to them, practically speaking you may never get what you need. Literally months or years may pass. No joke. Some of those folks are simply untouchable, and you can basically forget about meeting your own commitments. If I had ten dollars for everytime I was told I'd get something by the end of the day, and then didn't, I'd have some serious cash just from that. Never experienced that level of frustration at and dissapointment in professional colleagues anywhere before. I'd do everything in my power to compensate, until, after about 4 years I just broke down mentally exhausted, and had to leave. Towards the end of my career now and received my first poor performance review at EB. Sadly I couldn't disagree with the review, though so much was beyond my immediate control I tried to forgive myself, though still really stings. I'm pretty bright guy, and I worked my butt off, though I may as well have been a hamster on a wheel. In the end, I couldn't make any difference there.
