Having the chance to move from positions has a lot of requirements, and even if you get the chance to advance, the payment will stay practically the same. Having the chance for better opportunities outside of the company can be a real nightmare since the 'good' treatment they had with you will start to decrease, even if you let them know with a reasonable amount of time that you are going to leave the company. It was really frustrating to wait for information about a salary increase just because I had the chance for a bigger compensation somewhere else. Being constantly reminded of 'leaving a good impression with the client before leaving the company' (even though I NEVER had any problems with them, and recieved good comments about my performance working for them) just showed how much they 'hated' the fact that I choose to move somewhere else. Its sad they left that impression in me after having an actual good time working there (even though they sometimes gave me 'extra' duties justifying that those would help me getting a promotion sooner).
