Pros

Nice people in your team.

Cons

Hsbc is very much a face fits culture, you can only develop your career if you're manager likes you regardless of how good you are at your job. Hsbc is supposedly "customer centric" but all they care about is sales and profits. Even though they say there are no targets, if you're not selling they pile on the pressure to sell sell sell and threaten you with no bonus, no pay rise, and unacceptable behaviours! Customers are unhappy, customer facing staff are unhappy, big bosses are earning big bonuses and do not care for their staff or customers, you are nothing but a number to them....horrible atmosphere to work in! Unsociable shifts, regimented breaks and no recognition for good old fashioned customer service. Systems dont work, procedures are not customer friendly and out of date and complaints are justified.
