Pros

Most people of all levels and departments are much like family. Love that, but just like family, there are those you would like to not have to relate to. Benefits are generous by most company standards and start day one. Fairly relaxed interior atmosphere so long as you keep your head down and really work. Can work from home during bad weather, but that is the only time. If you are married to a spouse who has a decent job, this would be a good place for benefits and a start in the publishing industry.

Cons

Workload and job expectations do not match the low pay. Management is aware and yet no one will increase. Upper level positions and management pay is undeniably higher than their counter parts who actually do the heavy lifting for far less pay. HR is rather useless especially for employee concerns. Toxic environment, lots of childish drama. Can not keep your head down to simply work in some departments as the children of that department have too much pay and not enough to do so they gossip and slander. The worst part is, they also influence management with this negative talk and that creates a depressing environment. The toxic people are not disciplined or called out by HR so they continue their behavior without any repercussions. The rest of us suffer for their selfishness. The pay, again, is out of balance and in the Nashville location, terribly under paid. Not worth pursuing a position here unless it's upper level. Otherwise, you'll live below the poverty level and be expected to perform like you make millions for the company. Not any real opportunity for growth as it is a small size company to be a global publisher. Lot's of work for a single lower end position.
