Pros
Contract work. They pay for necessary training & licensing. Open enrollment period for health insurance. If you already work in the field and are just working to supplement income, will work for you as temp work for a few months in the busiest time of year for health insurance sales.Base hourly rate plus spiffs (no residuals or true commissions). Rich employee pool from all different fields looking to make a career change. Employees add a great dimension for good networking contacts going forward. We all learned a lot from each other in the process.
Cons
Carrot held out for permanent employment which rarely happens. Lots of politics. They use stack ranking as a reason to lay off. Stack ranking takes points off for any deviation of your schedule of work, whether requested by manager, or approved by managemnet. Most employees kept on are not there because of performance, but who they are friends with in the company. They make a lot promises and do not keep them. Micromanagement in all areas. Bonuses, rules, everything changes from day to day. There is a lack of stabilllity at almost all levels of employment. Each carrier has different rules according to individual contracts. Employees get moved around projects a lot. The only consistency with this company is their inconsistency. They are a churn and burn. They are opening another office for next enrollment period in Phoenix Metro--it will be the same-churn & burn, lack of employee stability, no benefits as outlined on website except for the few permanent employees.Run-dont walk!
