Pros

Hodes is a fast paced marketing agency with plans and aspirations. These plans can be intimidating, but mostly exciting as we rush to keep up with the pace of the digital landscape. Your ideas are heard here. The CEO is responsive and involved. Hodes will tap into talent, and recognize when you are getting overwhelmed by leaning on your great coworkers for support. You have an impact, and you feel the impact of your effort. You get to see clients buy in, adopt, or change their strategy based on your input. It's a meaningful job in a meaningful industry.

Cons

You have work life flexibility, if not so much work life balance. You have to set your own boundaries, and stick to them. Training is being developed, but not all areas have full, extensive training. A lot of what you learn, and the way you get noticed, is by learning and pushing yourself to be better. Hand holding isn't common in this aggressive of an environment. Change is uncomfortable. Not bad, but uncomfortable. Get ready to adapt, flex, and change as needed.

Pros

- Flexible work schedules. - Supportive colleagues. - Frequent travel.

Cons

- Lack of understanding of client dynamics from leadership. - Grave understaffing for some of the largest clients. - Constant pacification from leadership rather than conflict resolution. - Deliberate uneven assignment of work. If you are a strong employee, get ready for long nights and early mornings while its acceptable for others to not pull their weight. - Nepotism. Plain and simple. If you get into a certain "crowd" you have growth opportunity. If not, then you are the reason something went awry or a launching pad for someone else. - HUGE disconnect between leadership and front lines. Few decision makers actually know how their choices impact clients. - Career Manager Program doesn't provide practical career growth advice within the company. - "If you want a raise or promotion, leave and then come back" is a common quote. - Ive been in digital marketing for many years and never "clocked out" as frustrated as I did most nights at Hodes.

We appreciate your feedback. One consistent message throughout your post is that Hodes is lucky to have a lot of very talented people working here. While there has been a lot of change, we now have a focused vision and mission. People are critical to achieving that mission. We will heed your advice and ensure we are communicating with, developing and appreciating the amazing talent we have. We are also relaunching the Career Manager program in September with more guidance, support and tools to support career discussions. Finally, we are evaluating compensation against market data and developing plans to ensure we are paying fairly and competitively. Thanks again for the feedback.
